However, the fact that I could hear it so loudly also meant that the other man did too. He whipped his head around, just in time to see a four-legged creature dash behind another car. Crying out in shock, he fired his gun a few shots after she had already vanished, only to run over to his partner in crime, continuing to point his weapon towards the car. Dont get me wrong, this author can write his butt off. He makes very powerful characters and world elements. I was hooked on this story in the beginning but it lost me a little beyond the 60% mark. *minor spoilers* below.......1) I personally enjoyed the cold and calculating predator. All the cunning of a apex monster. Until he started behaving like a human teenager and alot of emotional outbursts.2) The game system was a bit difficult to understand at first, and I honestly just glossed over the stat pages.3) why the world ended was never explained.4) there was another character/monster, that was introduced, but after a chapter, was never seen, heard from, or thought about again.The mc after a while reminded me of a Shonen anime protagonist. And after I made that connection, the magic for me was lost. Not sure if I will read the second book.
